Whether it was your first adventure race or you were back to add another notch to your belt, we hope you had an unforgettable day criss-crossing the Blue Mountains National Park trails and paddling the mighty Nepean River, chasing down those checkpoints one by one.

The day kicked off crisp and clear as teams rolled into Euroka Clearing, grabbed their race bags and made their race plans. Once the Max Adventure cowbell rang out, over 125 teams shot off under the arch for a fast-paced orienteering warm up, catching a few sleepy campers by surprise. From there, teams scattering through the bush in search of hidden orange flag checkpoints.

On the Kayaking leg black cockatoos soared overhead as teams paddled upstream, those hitting the water later in the day had to work hard with a testing headwind on the return. On the bike legs, the singletrack delivered some fast times and big grins. The running legs were challenging but teams did well, following the map features and most teams found every last checkpoint!

A special shoutout to all the parent/kid teams, we loved watching you work together, learn together, and laugh through the chaos. That’s what adventure racing is all about!
