Maximum Adventure Race Series
Saturday 1st June, 2019
Royal National Park, NSW
That’s a wrap on the third event in the 2019 Maximum Adventure Race Series!
What a fantastic weekend for all the Classic and Novice teams, trail running and mountain biking through the Royal National Park. The single track mountain biking had teams zipping along with smiles on their dials while the serene waters of Audley Weir were perfect for the kayak leg. The big challenge for a lot of teams was the Karloo loop, along some beautiful secluded waterholes.
A number of bonus checkpoints for the Classic course teams meant teams had to carefully weigh up their options when deciding whether or not to go for the bonus time available for collecting those checkpoints.
The Novice course teams embraced the challenge with gusto and had a great time out on course. A number were already planning to step up to the Classic course at the next opportunity.
Congratulations to all podium finishers who smashed out a tricky course in some super fast times, but also to all the teams that got out there, gave it their all and enjoyed a real weekend adventure!
A special shout out goes to our hard working volunteers who lent a hand and helped make this event happen either out on course as a marshal or at the event centre. Thank you also to everyone who supported the fundraising efforts of the Springwood Lions Club by purchasing the BBQ lunch kindly put on by their terrific volunteers.
