What an incredible day it was at the Sunshine Coast Max Adventure Race this past Saturday! Thank you to all our participating for making this event a memorable one!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with a sunny and bright day guiding participants through the green pine forests and the mangrove-lined Coochin Creek. In the past, this location has been extremely wet and muddy, making for a fun but messy day of adventure racing. However, this Saturday, conditions were ideal, and the tracks were mainly dry making for fast running and mountain biking legs.
This event marks the fourth installment in the 2023 Max Adventure Race Series. Each year our series visits Lake Macquarie, Brisbane, the Royal National Park, Sunshine Coast, and finally the Blue Mountains. While every location brings something special, we believe the Sunshine Coast event is perhaps the trickiest. There’s no denying that navigation in a mainly flat pine forest is TOUGH!! A big congratulations to all teams for taking on the challenging course through the warren of trails around Wild Horse Mountain.
To all the first-time adventure racers who joined us for this event, we applaud you! Adventure racing is all about pushing your limits, and we are always thrilled to see newcomers embracing the challenge!
And of course a BIG congratulations to our littlest adventurers! The Kids Adventure Race was a 9 checkpoint course word search. We had loads of fun setting this course and loved watching the teams take to the trails with enthusiasm.
